Athlete Spotlight – September – Bill A.

Tell me about your fitness journey:
“After i graduated HS in michigan i moved to colorado and started mountain biking quite a bit.I loved to trail ride and also street riding dabbling in jumping and trick riding. i ended up with a few injuries doing this type of riding… broken RT humerus, broken LT clavicle, ruptured LT achilles to name just a few…
Crossfit, especially Darin, has helped immensely with regaining my strength, learning how to properly use my body and getting healthy. Darin even help me rehab my dislocated Left patella from a skiing accident, at the gym, using physical therapy techniques!!. “
Since starting with KADA, what changes have you seen:
“Since I’ve started with KADA I have seen a lot of changes in my overall health and well-being including my strength and stamina in athletics and at work.”
What workouts/movements are your favorite and what are your least favorite:
“My favorite movements are  power cleans and power snatches I also enjoy the challenge of pull-ups and double unders which I have not mastered as of yet. I also enjoy wods with simple movements that test your grit for time. “
What are your current goals:
“My current goals are to master double unders and I would love to start pulling off butterfly pull-ups soon. I would also like to place in the Festivus games under 45+ Masters category.”
What keeps you motivated:
“What keeps me motivated in CrossFit is maintaining my good health and providing a good example for my 2 teenage children to follow. Also, once an athlete gets to a certain level if you let yourself go it is very difficult to come back as I have learned the hard way over the 3 1/2 years I have been training to become CrossFit.”
What is your stress reliever and how do you like to relax:
“My favorite stress reliever is going on vacation to the beach in Florida (Anna Maria island) and spending time on the beach, rebooting by sun bathing, drinking ice cold white wine or ice cold Corona out of the cooler and building a BIG sand castle. But before the wine and sand castle is an awesome beach WOD with an ocean swim. Then a fresh seafood dinner of seared grouper or swordfish and fresh gulf shrimp, all followed by a beautiful sunset ocean cruise. 10 days of that and I’m all good. For another few years.”
What is your favorite go-to healthy meal:
“My favorite healthy meal is a NY strip with fresh green beans and broccoli and a sweet potato. Or replace the red meat w a bone in pork chop or fresh caught wild salmon.”
